Involvement
The Georgia Tech Motorsports team has a need for students of all disciplines and levels of study. This team exists to represent the excellence of the Georgia Institute of Technology at the Formula SAE events. It is an all-volunteer effort and a large effort is required not only engineering but also the areas of management, sponsor relations, marketing, public relations, accounting, computing, art, photography, and videography. GT Motorsports is dependent upon the expertise and assistance of dedicated students from all academic disciplines.
Our goal is to provide students the opportunity to utilize their theoretical knowledge in real-life situations by designing, building, and testing racing vehicles in the annual Formula SAE competition(s.) GT Motorsports creates an environment where students can pursue challenges that would be unavailable elsewhere. This provides for the development of new design concepts and processes in the construction of the Formula SAE vehicles that can be applied in future automotive technologies. Students also learn leadership and project management skills while developing team structure in a safe, effective learning environment for all members.
